Vinyasa is a style of yoga in which individual poses are seamlessly linked together – you move from one position to the next in harmony with your breath. Often referred to as Flow Yoga, each Vinyasa class offers a unique sequence of movements – no two sessions are ever the same.
Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice in which passive stretches are held for extended periods, targeting the deeper connective tissues. It’s ideal for releasing tension, improving flexibility, and calming the mind. Perfect for unwinding after a long day or balancing out more intense workouts – Yin Yoga helps restore both physical and mental harmony.
Hatha Yoga is a classical, grounding practice that focuses on alignment, controlled breathing, and mindful movement. It’s ideal for all levels and helps you build strength, improve flexibility, and develop a deeper connection between body and mind. You can expect a gentle pace and a calming sense of inner peace – perfect for starting or ending your day with intention.
Exclusive to David Lloyd Clubs – SPIRIT classes combine yoga, Pilates, and meditation into a holistic movement experience. Yoga can help lower blood pressure, increase flexibility, improve posture, and release muscle tension. But its impact goes far beyond the physical. Through conscious breath control and meditative elements, the mind also finds calm, helping you focus in the morning or unwind peacefully in the evening.
Wear comfortable clothing to our yoga or Pilates classes and bring a water bottle if you're joining a more dynamic session. Non-slip gloves and/or socks can offer extra stability and confidence. For Reformer Pilates, grip socks are required – they provide better traction and control on the equipment.
We’ll provide everything else you need, including yoga mats and props. However, you’re welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.
Book your yoga or Pilates class easily – either at the Club or through the app, whichever works best for you!
And if you can't make it to a session, no problem: simply sign up for the next class and jump back in when it suits you.
Yoga and Pilates are both holistic training methods that strengthen body and mind, but they differ in origin and focus. Yoga originates from India and combines physical postures with breathing techniques and meditation, aiming for inner balance and mental relaxation. Pilates, developed in the 20th century, focuses primarily on strengthening the deep core muscles, building a stable centre and improving posture without spiritual elements. While yoga promotes relaxation and mindfulness, Pilates places greater emphasis on precise movement and body control.
